Congratulations to Kanonkop! If ever there was a true Icon Wine in the making in South Africa, it has been Kanonkop Pinotage.

In picking the best from some of the oldest Pinotage vines in the country , they have equalled the essential prerequisites set out by other Icons in countries like Australia , California, Italy and France.

Here we have a track record and true blue-blooded wine heritage. No marketing and PR hype , such as has been the case with a number of whannabe icons released in the past few years by wineries with big budgets but little vinious history.

I wish them all the best and am sure that sales will always be strong. Mark my words, in 5 years time I wouldn't be surprised to see this wine at R1500-R2000 a bottle due to consumer demand!
